Delirium Propaganda

Four years of planning, that’s how long it took for German fans of the popular Warhammer 40,000 game to make what is certainly one of the most spectacular fan films ever created. With a total production cost of only € 10.000 one is left to believe that Damnatus is just another amateur film lacking true quality but this couldn’t be any further from the truth. The film employed 11 principal actors, numerous extras and meticulous special effects that would make any professional movie producer weep with envy.

Despite all the promising qualities Damnatus won’t be released given that complicated German copyright laws forbid it. The obstacles present are so complex that the director and producer of the movie have confirmed that they have given up trying to get the film in front of an audience.

For now the only thing we can do is watch the trailer and hope for the best. Unfortunately GameWorshop, owner of the WarHammer trade mark, have already stated that the film won’t be permitted to air so this might be the best fan movie that never was.
