Adsense - images next to ads

Ym.pngToday I was surfing on my favorite webmasters forum (DP) and was drawn to read a thread about Adsense. What wasn’t my surprise to discover that Adsense has clarified or rather imposed new rules on using images next to ads. From now on there are new guide lines that affiliates will have to adhere to in order to use images next to their ads which includes not lining the two together. In simpler terms, images and ads may in no way what so appear to be associated. For more information on what is permitted and what is not you can read the Adsense team’s clarifications.

google_checkout.gifGood news for all merchants using the Google Checkout service. Google has officially announced that they have decided to offer to processes all Checkout transactions for free, even if you don’t have an AdWords account. Before for every $1 you spent on AdWords you would get $10 worth of Google Checkout sales for free. Now Google is saying that processing fees are free until December 31, 2007. Google just made Christmas a whole lot better for many merchants.

I’ve always wanted to create my own Custom Search Engine (CSE) but because I didn’t have the necessary skills thought that it would be virtually impossible. I know there are a lot of you out there that feel the same way but thanks to Google’s Co-op creating a CSE couldn’t be any easier, no coding required.

I’ve already created my CSE a few weeks ago witch I’ve already announced on this blog, but only now am I seeing a wide spread use of the Google Co-op. Today at the Google blog you can see a good example of the CSE in action on MacWorld’s site “You can see the search box in the top right-hand corner”.

Now this all is fine and dandy but what Webmasters really want is to earn big bucks. Well the good news is that you can. If you have an AdSense for search account, you can use it to link to your CSE and earn from searches.  Not only are you creating a better search experience for your visitors as you are also earning from doing it. I don’t think it could get any better than that.

Last week I made a post about how I had managed to increase the traffic to my blog by simply changing a few old post headings and writing a few appealing pages. At the time, I wrote that traffic from Google had gone up from 30% to 40% in a few days and that my earnings also felt a drastic increase. The reason why I decided to make an update is that the results I've been achieving have managed even impress me.
At the present moment the blog in question is receiving an average of 450 to 500 visitors per day from Google, a few weeks ago it was averaged around 220. My Adsense earnings have sky rocketed as well, it use to be a few clicks daily, now it can reach 50. The most amazing part is that the blog isn't even written in English, proving that Google can help any site or blog regardless of what language it is written in.
I advise everyone to try this method out because it can prove most effective in a very short period of time.

A few days ago I decided to tweak a few things on my blog to see if I could attract more visitors. What I decided to do was go to old posts and change the heading to something simpler for search engines to understand. Headings like “My adventures in a capitalist’s world” changed to “Things I learned when starting my business”. Another test I did was to create a few more high quality pages on my blog with good headings and the best information I could possibly write. I know this might sound totally stupid but the results obtained just a few days after proved that my speculations were spot on.

thedeathreport2.jpgMike Filsame just released his new superb eBook “The Death of Internet Marketing Report” which is a definite must for all Internet Marketers. At first I was skeptical and thought this was yet another FREE online eBook that nobody wanted to read, and yes I said FREE. After about two seconds spent reading the introduction and the first few paragraphs I just couldn’t take my eyes off it.

I’ve seen eBooks not even half as good as Mike Filsame’s The Death of Internet Marketing Report being sold for hundreds if not thousands of dollars so needled to say that I was rather surprised that something this good was being distributed free. You can read and explanation why Mike Filsame is offering his work for free in his eBook.

One thing that surprises me is the number of people that only rely on Adsense to make monetize their site or blog. When visiting any Webmaster forum there are endless threads started by Adsense junkies complaining about how little they are earning.

So what are they doing wrong, why aren’t they cashing in?

There is actually a very simple answer to this question. Adsense is great for high-traffic sites that generate at least 50 clicks or more per day, if this isn’t your case you just won’t get rich of Adsense. This statement is so true that even the Adsense team admits that only 1% of all publishers make more than $50 per month, now that’s something to think about. Please understand that I’m not encouraging anyone to stop using Adsense, what I do want is to explain to you that there are better ways of making money. I use these three Affiliate programs to further monetize my blog.

Make money with your domains

John Chow’s blog has a very interesting article on his blog about how to make money from domains. Needles to say that this notion was totally new to me so I thought it would be interesting to share it here with everyone.  The article describes how people known has “domainers” make money from buying domains and using them on parked pages with ads. The money comes from PPC services especially catered for parked domains like Google Adsense for Domains. A few days ago I also wrote a post about how to make money from parked domains but I think John Chow’s might be more profitable especially for those people that have many domains. Read the full article here.
