YouTube.gifOLPC is the most subscribe non-profit channel on YouTube in the month of November and the 23rd of all time.

If you don’t know what OLPC means and what they stand to achieve, I’ll give you a short explanation. OLPC means One Laptop per Child and they have undertaken the enormous task of helping educate the children of poor third world countries by developing and selling complete functional laptops for only $100.

Those OLPC guys are doing a great job and should receive your support. Visit their Youtube channel and subscribe to it, it’s all for a good cause.

cnetlogo.gifThe guys over a CNET decided to create a list of the Top Ten terrible Tech Products and would you believe it that the Vista Operating System made it to the tenth spot. They really do have some excellent points to back this up.

1 - Any operating system that provokes a campaign for its predecessor’s reintroduction deserves to be classed as terrible technology.
2 - Any operating system that quietly has a downgrade-to- previous-edition option introduced for PC makers deserves to be classed as terrible technology.
3 - Any operating system that takes six years of development but is instantly hated by hordes of PC professionals and enthusiasts deserves to be classed as terrible technology.

I’m a proud owner of two new laptops both of which come equipped with the Vista operating system. On my HP pavilion dv6500 you will find the Vista home edition whilst on the other tiny Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pro Vista Business is the OS of choice. To be truly honest with you I really don’t know the difference since they both look exactly the same. The only evident variation is that the Business edition comes preinstalled with a Microsoft Office trial. Yes I know, who cares.

The only thing that really bugs me besides the whole crappy, Linux wannabe security warnings, is the resource hogging, computer slowing, thing that happens every time a few programs are running simultaneously. Make that better and maybe you will have a content customer.

terk.jpgThe new Terk antenna is the best solution for high definition TV reception and the perfect devise for capturing all free local HDTV broadcasts. This extremely affordable and versatile amplified HDTV antenna is one of the best options available especially when compared to similar offerings in its price range. No other HDTV equipment offers such outstanding quality combined with all the Terk’s functionalities at such an affordable price.

Seeing as the HDTV broadcast signal can’t be captured by the old standard satellite or cable equipments, it is vital that a HDTV antenna be installed. The Terk outdoor antenna is the perfect and natural solution. Another great aspect is its versatility given that a mini-mast bracket permits the antenna to be mounted on any wall. This eliminates the need of installing the antenna on a roof top by permitting it to be fixed in a more discreet location.

If you’re anything like me leaving the computer can be somewhat of a daunting task especially if you know you haven’t red all the latest news that’s storming the web. Sometimes you are so tired and end up falling sleep right in front of your monitor but some days, the good days, you manage to keep it together just long enough to read it all and fill your eyes with news, reviews and some spicy videos. You get the picture right?

Now imagine you could get your daily news dosage all in one place and the best part about it all is that you won’t need to read it, rather stair at the screen and watch it!!! Trust me that’s not all, you can do all this while looking at a sexy girl. Need I say more?

From watching the two videos that have been released so far I couldn’t help but get the felling I was watching Digg on TV. Most of the news presented seemed taken from Digg’s front page which is perfectly normal but one would really love to see them expand beyond the traditional news sources and dive deeper into web in search of more unique content. Just like Digg did when they first launched. WebAllert is great for those lonely nights, or not, especially if you like to keep up to date on all the tech and gaming news, I know I loved it.
