Since the start of everything the company saw a way and followed it. Created by a track athlete and his coach at the University of Oregon, the tiny company became a synonym to sports and competition. Huge stores strategically located in the world’s top cities and marketing campaigns in which provoked all sorts of human beliefs and power of will. Team and athletes endorsement like no other and yet they still are ambitioned the same way a executive weekend tennis player and theurban basketball kid do. Nike built up in 30 years what many companies are struggling to achieve after 80 years of operation. This article will briefly go through the rich time-line of this company in which literally changed the way people see sports.
Philip Knight and his coach Bill Bowerman had a similar thought in the first month of 1964. Both were passionate about sports and both wanted to make a life out of it. Understanding that the best track shoes came from a Japanese company in which didn’t have much exposure in the US yet, they became their distributers in the country. Due to their success, the partners opened a store in California and realized how well they could do by exposing their own ideas and beliefs. The ?swoosh?sign was designed and placed in new shoes in which the store was selling. From that point on, Nike became the world’s biggest sports retailer.
Originated from the Greek god of victory, the name ?Nike? is definitely unique. Easily spoken and pronounced, the whole world understands it’s meaning. Strong logo, slogans and basically overall marketing was always part of Nike. During the 80′s the company already had a solid consumer based market and a lot of ground for expansion. Joined forces with an upcoming advertising agency, Nike introduce the ?Just Do It? concept in 1988 and from that point on the company sky rocketed into a powerful multinational.
The company was also keen on obtaining talent. The 90′s was the Michael Jordan era and Nike knew it from the point the player wore the University of North Carolina jersey. Memorable commercials and special products were designed to follow the MJ avalanche. Nike saw Michael Jordan as a star that could go over the four lines of a basketball court and the fans in the US. Overall he became a world wide personality imposing the values of sweat, tears, struggle and victory.
Moreover, Nike can be considered a fashion beginner that clearly influenced many around the globe. The manufacturer of shirts, hoddies, pants, sport watches, balls and all products sports can be involved with is on the wardrobe of all. The main feature of Nike is that it became a truly global brand; thug kids to knitting grandmothers can be seem wearing Nike products and is no shock about it. The company definitely is one of the most influential in the world and is always creating opportunity for it self, following their own thought of ?Just Do It?.

Folks who are being anesthetized by the lame stream media are generally not paying attention. Digging deep to discover the truth is not likely a part of their repertory mosaic. However, more and more people are waking up. How? It?s partially because the lies are becoming so frequent, one would have to be brain challenged not to catch at least a few of them. For example, remember when the tea party people were complaining that there were death panels in the proposed health care bill? Many liberals and many of their media puppets were proclaiming that there was no such thing as death panels in the health care bill. Then on Facebook, Sara Palen complained about the death panels and what happened? The powers that be (the Democrats) took out the ?non-existent? death panels! It must have been such an embarrassment to delete something that they claimed didn?t exist to begin with. But it demonstrated that the lies are so frequent that the liars have hardly a moment of shame; they simply proceed to their next lie.
Americans Are Changing (to the tune of The Times They Are A Changing).
Thankfully, the voters will have the final say. A big part of the garbage will be dumped in November. Unfortunately, some of those getting elected will also become corrupt once they get into office. But they will slowly fade from power.
What is the opposite of a tea party march? It?s when 14 bus loads of union thugs are bussed to someone?s front lawn to intimidate the neighborhood with bull horns. This happened in Maryland. The Maryland police refused to control the crowd. The DC police who escorted the mod to the neighborhood refused to control the crowd. Whose front lawn was it? The property belonged to a Bank of America lawyer, who was not in the house. His 14-year-old son was inside and was scared out of his mind. If the tea party people had done such a thing it would have been front-page news for three weeks. But since it is the Lefties who are doing it, the lame stream media can just yawn and put the story on the back burner or off the stove completely. Fox News ran the story for a while to point out the discriminatory way in which the lame stream media reports on people who are protesting.
Things Are About To Change (to the tune of Battle Hymn of The Republic).
The Lefties in the United States would like very much to replicate the tea party movement, but they can?t do it. The coffee parties didn?t work out. The union thug gatherings are not working out so good. Unlike the tea parties, the union thug gatherings do become violent at times. Last year, for example, the union thugs of SEIU beat a man, Kenneth Gladney, down to the ground and used the N word against him. If the tea party people had beaten a union thug to the ground, the Bolsheviks would be calling for a congressional investigation. It is certainly not a level playing field in congress. But that is about to change. Lots of the garbage is about to be taken out. Even though the health care albatross cannot be repealed, it will become un-funded by the Americans who get elected.

As a result of the short supply of resources and our ever increasing needs many individuals and companies are trying to go green. The Las Vegas strip is really leading the pack. Las Vegas Boulevard sits in the center of the desert. In average years they only get four inches of rain a year, but they have been in a drought for several of those years.
They rely heavily on limited resources. Most of the city depends greatly on oil and natural gas to keep the city running. In July of 2009 the city used up 5,586 megawatts. These are huge numbers and the city of light can’t use non-renewable resources evermore. The city itself already gets all its water from Lake Mead. In October 1999 water at Hoover Dam was 1,213 feet deep but now it’s only 1,093 which means the water level has gone down by 120 feet.
This metropolitan soaks up huge amounts of energy and it can’t stay on that path. Accordingly the city has made some changes which will allow the city to stay the same while supporting a sustainable design. The city is trying to go green little by little.
Harrah’s Entertainment which owns Caesars Palace and Paris Las Vegas has already spent $60 million on conservation projects in the last six years. There have even been joint projects like a multi-resort laundry facility which has cut water use by 30 percent in spite of the 40 percent increase in size and a cogeneration plant that can generate enough electricity to power one of the hotels two towers.
They have also started building new casinos that are kinder to the environment. City Center, MGM Mirage’s 67-acre resort complex was developed green enough that they were awarded the LEED Gold Certified, the second highest qualification from from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) . The casino will reduce the use of electricity by using a cogeneration plant, glass and sunshades that let light in but reflect the heat and low-flow fixtures which reduce indoor water usage. And the surplus heat will be used to warm the resorts water supply.
Even though the new hotel is gigantic, the builders really challenged themselves. They decided to make a larger building that was environmentally friendly over a smaller building that was sort of green. The designers pushed themselves on green designs and are delighted that they received a LEED award.
Las Vegas will still have the casinos, the shows, and the fluorescent lights. a refuge for visitors that want to party and have a splendid time. Everything will stay the same, because visitors still want Vegas to remain the same except for the natural resources that are being wasted in the city.. Going green is important in protecting the earth and it’s notable that Las Vegas has determined to lead the pack.

Recent talks of Microsoft trying to buy Yahoo! has made me wonder. While it makes commercial sense to Microsoft, and perhaps Yahoo! shareholders, it makes absolutely no sense to us, the users.
Its common knowledge that in terms of accuracy and speed of search engines, it is rank in the order of Google, Yahoo and Live (or whatever they call it). That is the result of the market share of each company in terms of searches. Will the “merger” of Microsoft and Yahoo searches produce more accurate searches for the “new” company or search engine? Very doubtful indeed.
Mr Icahn’s mind is made up. It is up to minority Yahoo! shareholders to make their voices felt. Microsoft should concentrate on getting their products and services more user-friendly. Update their search algorithm to make it more search friendly (how many times have you searched for something on their platform and decides that Google’s searches produces more accurate results – though it is getting less accurate these days, but that’s another story.), and produce more accurate results?
Why would Microsoft wants Yahoo! ? Due to Yahoo! Mail? Social sites? Advertising potential? I currently use Yahoo! Search Marketing for my ad links. If Microsoft successfully buy Yahoo, I can see the demise of Yahoo as a search engine, and Google totally dominating – not something I would like to see really.
In business sense, Microsoft has done the right move. On the other hand, they will just waste money. Google will just grow stronger and the “new” merged search “giant” will just grow smaller, in terms of advertisement revenue, in terms of search market share. Only one guy will be left laughing.

Many people hunger for the opportunity to turn their blog into a profitable enterprise. Unfortunately before this can happen, there are a few simple rules that have to be carefully investigated before a blog can in fact become profitable. Bellow you will find ten easy steps that will help accomplish this goal.
Write for people not machines
1 -Many people will start a blog with the prefabricated idea that only search engines (SE) can provide good traffic. The end result is that these blogs become cluttered with long posts or articles that do not appeal to the average reader. When writing, be it a short post about the resent events in your life or a complex tutorial about “10 crucial steps to developing a good blog”, you should always think of the readers first.
Enough with the ads already
2 –This is the first phrase I say when visiting most blogs. Over crowded blogs with banner ads popping out from every corner annoy most readers and discourages them from ever returning. Please understand that in most cases these banners will never earn a single cent, so give it up already.
Communicate
3 -Communicate with the audience, don’t turn your blog into a one way information stream that does not promote interactivity. Most blogs on my daily must visit list are excellent at communicating and always engage us, the reader, by promoting feedback and interactivity. This can be easily achieved by asking for opinions and responding all question or suggestions made.
Leave comments on blogs
4 –Bloggers respect and appreciate readers that leave good comments on their blogs. A comment is seen as retribution to the hard work invested in writing a good post and will motivate them to visit your blog and return the favor.
Write about other bloggers
5 – When I say write about other bloggers I am talking about any service, plugin, themes they might have developed or released. Write a post describing the product offered and link to the original blog so that your readers can download whatever might be on offer. I have developed many friendships and benefited from a lot of services provided completely free of charge from bloggers, merely because I wrote a review and linked to their blog.
Stick to what you know
6 –Stick to a topic you dominate, currently there are enough marketing blogs on the blogosphere already. Starting any project on a theme you do not understand is very complicated and in most cases dictates imminent failure. This is also a very good way to be branded a complete idiot seeing as the content offered will obviously lack the needed knowhow.
One is always better than two
7 –Some people wrongly assume that maintaining a few blogs is the best solution since it provides a better chance of succeeding. Just because you make $100 per month on one blog doesn’t automatically mean you will earn $200 with two blogs. Most people have found that it is easier to make money from only one blog than from a few less active blogs. This goes double if you are an extremely occupied individual that finds it hard to maintain an active blog.
Develop a routine
8 –People like to know what to expect and love to be part of a routine. Cleverly build a routine on your blog and watch has the readers pour in. A blogger can easily create a routine by organizing the publication of new content to coincide with a particular day of the week.
Be unique
9 –Every single living soul on this planet is unique and has something exceptional to contribute. Trying to copy, duplicate or mimic other popular blogs is a clear demonstration of laziness and little imagination. Contribute with your own unique experiences and create something that stands out from the crowd.
Have fun
10 –The last crucial step is in my opinion the most important because it will dictate the continuity of your blog. The best bloggers are the ones that have fun and enjoy what they do. Don’t fall into the trap of starting something just for the financial gain, I can guarantee that in most cases failure is the end result. Have fun with your blog will prosper and so will you.
Creating a better, more professional blog is easy but it does require some hard work and perseverance. Apply the 10 steps mentioned above to maximize the potential of your blog and notice has the readers start to flock in.

The online advertising company AdBrite has raised another $23 million in a third round of funding from investors DAG Ventures, Mitsui Ventures, Sequoia Capital and Artis Management.
The funding is intended to be used to help stimulate growth and expand the current targeting capabilities such as behavioral targeting. Founder Philip Kaplan, states that Adbrite is currently the third largest ad network, behind Google and Advertising.com, with over one billion page views a day across a network of 50,000 publishers.
With some experience using the Adbrite Affiliate program I do surely hope that the funds be utilized in improving their service.

Just a few days ago I wrote a post about how CNET had rated Microsoft’s Vista Operating System, one of the Top Ten terrible Tech Products of all time. Today CNET wants to make it all better by offering free advice to Microsoft on how to improve their much despised product.
The first suggestion is rather interesting and I’m sure it will be the one that receives the most approval from Microsoft. Going open source is the first step to success and has CNET put it “the only real solution to fixing Windows’ slew of issues”. I can see where they want to go with this but for some reason I don’t think it will happen, call it a gut feeling.
Make things simple, sell only one Version of Vista. Simple is good but in Europe that can result in expensive law suits. To be totally fair, I don’t really think Microsoft has much power over this issue. European anti-monopoly laws are a bitch and Microsoft has learnt that the hard way.
Don’t try be the big chiwawa of the internet, stick to software and be happy. I really agree with this point in many ways. Microsoft despises Google and has been on a buying spree to see if they can make a dent, especially in the online Advertising market. They don’t strand a change of beating Google and should stick to what they know best, developing crappy OS.
The last suggestion is an important one but I don’t really know if relevant. We all know that nearly everything is migrating to the internet but developing a Web based OS doesn’t seem like the best solution for the current problems. Even if they do release such a product wouldn’t they still have the original problem at hands? Fix this one first and then start something new.
