Recent talks of Microsoft trying to buy Yahoo! has made me wonder. While it makes commercial sense to Microsoft, and perhaps Yahoo! shareholders, it makes absolutely no sense to us, the users.
Its common knowledge that in terms of accuracy and speed of search engines, it is rank in the order of Google, Yahoo and Live (or whatever they call it). That is the result of the market share of each company in terms of searches. Will the “merger” of Microsoft and Yahoo searches produce more accurate searches for the “new” company or search engine? Very doubtful indeed.
Mr Icahn’s mind is made up. It is up to minority Yahoo! shareholders to make their voices felt. Microsoft should concentrate on getting their products and services more user-friendly. Update their search algorithm to make it more search friendly (how many times have you searched for something on their platform and decides that Google’s searches produces more accurate results - though it is getting less accurate these days, but that’s another story.), and produce more accurate results?
Why would Microsoft wants Yahoo! ? Due to Yahoo! Mail? Social sites? Advertising potential? I currently use Yahoo! Search Marketing for my ad links. If Microsoft successfully buy Yahoo, I can see the demise of Yahoo as a search engine, and Google totally dominating - not something I would like to see really.
In business sense, Microsoft has done the right move. On the other hand, they will just waste money. Google will just grow stronger and the “new” merged search “giant” will just grow smaller, in terms of advertisement revenue, in terms of search market share. Only one guy will be left laughing.

Many people hunger for the opportunity to turn their blog into a profitable enterprise. Unfortunately before this can happen, there are a few simple rules that have to be carefully investigated before a blog can in fact become profitable. Bellow you will find ten easy steps that will help accomplish this goal.
Write for people not machines
1 -Many people will start a blog with the prefabricated idea that only search engines (SE) can provide good traffic. The end result is that these blogs become cluttered with long posts or articles that do not appeal to the average reader. When writing, be it a short post about the resent events in your life or a complex tutorial about “10 crucial steps to developing a good blog”, you should always think of the readers first.
Enough with the ads already
2 –This is the first phrase I say when visiting most blogs. Over crowded blogs with banner ads popping out from every corner annoy most readers and discourages them from ever returning. Please understand that in most cases these banners will never earn a single cent, so give it up already.
Communicate
3 -Communicate with the audience, don’t turn your blog into a one way information stream that does not promote interactivity. Most blogs on my daily must visit list are excellent at communicating and always engage us, the reader, by promoting feedback and interactivity. This can be easily achieved by asking for opinions and responding all question or suggestions made.
Leave comments on blogs
4 –Bloggers respect and appreciate readers that leave good comments on their blogs. A comment is seen as retribution to the hard work invested in writing a good post and will motivate them to visit your blog and return the favor.
Write about other bloggers
5 – When I say write about other bloggers I am talking about any service, plugin, themes they might have developed or released. Write a post describing the product offered and link to the original blog so that your readers can download whatever might be on offer. I have developed many friendships and benefited from a lot of services provided completely free of charge from bloggers, merely because I wrote a review and linked to their blog.
Stick to what you know
6 –Stick to a topic you dominate, currently there are enough marketing blogs on the blogosphere already. Starting any project on a theme you do not understand is very complicated and in most cases dictates imminent failure. This is also a very good way to be branded a complete idiot seeing as the content offered will obviously lack the needed knowhow.
One is always better than two
7 –Some people wrongly assume that maintaining a few blogs is the best solution since it provides a better chance of succeeding. Just because you make $100 per month on one blog doesn’t automatically mean you will earn $200 with two blogs. Most people have found that it is easier to make money from only one blog than from a few less active blogs. This goes double if you are an extremely occupied individual that finds it hard to maintain an active blog.
Develop a routine
8 –People like to know what to expect and love to be part of a routine. Cleverly build a routine on your blog and watch has the readers pour in. A blogger can easily create a routine by organizing the publication of new content to coincide with a particular day of the week.
Be unique
9 –Every single living soul on this planet is unique and has something exceptional to contribute. Trying to copy, duplicate or mimic other popular blogs is a clear demonstration of laziness and little imagination. Contribute with your own unique experiences and create something that stands out from the crowd.
Have fun
10 –The last crucial step is in my opinion the most important because it will dictate the continuity of your blog. The best bloggers are the ones that have fun and enjoy what they do. Don’t fall into the trap of starting something just for the financial gain, I can guarantee that in most cases failure is the end result. Have fun with your blog will prosper and so will you.
Creating a better, more professional blog is easy but it does require some hard work and perseverance. Apply the 10 steps mentioned above to maximize the potential of your blog and notice has the readers start to flock in.

Today’s special, Uranium Ore. Amazon has on sale a nice little tin of the much appreciated Uranium Ore which can be a practical little solution for use on a wide range of ingenious inventions, gadgets, time machines and apparatus’ designed to provide you super human powers.
I was really skeptical and wasn’t sure if this product was the solution I’ve always been looking for. After reading a few reviews I was convinced, my days as a normal human being have reached the end.

I ordered a bunch of cans of this, and still couldn’t get my time machine to work. I can’t wait to get back to 1985 and my hot girlfriend. Meanwhile, I’m stuck working at the Cafe 80s, dammit.

I have tried countless other Cat food supplements but this one tops them all! My cat grew 9 inches and gained 20 pounds in just a week! Well the only draw back is she keeps me awake at night now, you know with the glowing and all. But that’s a Minor complaint considering I have my very own catzilla! Thanks Amazon you rule!
With that many content customers there is no going wrong. Now with the help of the pet hamster next door, together we can finally start a crime fighting team to save all mankind from self destruction.

The online advertising company AdBrite has raised another $23 million in a third round of funding from investors DAG Ventures, Mitsui Ventures, Sequoia Capital and Artis Management.
The funding is intended to be used to help stimulate growth and expand the current targeting capabilities such as behavioral targeting. Founder Philip Kaplan, states that Adbrite is currently the third largest ad network, behind Google and Advertising.com, with over one billion page views a day across a network of 50,000 publishers.
With some experience using the Adbrite Affiliate program I do surely hope that the funds be utilized in improving their service.

Just a few days ago I wrote a post about how CNET had rated Microsoft’s Vista Operating System, one of the Top Ten terrible Tech Products of all time. Today CNET wants to make it all better by offering free advice to Microsoft on how to improve their much despised product.
The first suggestion is rather interesting and I’m sure it will be the one that receives the most approval from Microsoft. Going open source is the first step to success and has CNET put it “the only real solution to fixing Windows’ slew of issues”. I can see where they want to go with this but for some reason I don’t think it will happen, call it a gut feeling.
Make things simple, sell only one Version of Vista. Simple is good but in Europe that can result in expensive law suits. To be totally fair, I don’t really think Microsoft has much power over this issue. European anti-monopoly laws are a bitch and Microsoft has learnt that the hard way.
Don’t try be the big chiwawa of the internet, stick to software and be happy. I really agree with this point in many ways. Microsoft despises Google and has been on a buying spree to see if they can make a dent, especially in the online Advertising market. They don’t strand a change of beating Google and should stick to what they know best, developing crappy OS.
The last suggestion is an important one but I don’t really know if relevant. We all know that nearly everything is migrating to the internet but developing a Web based OS doesn’t seem like the best solution for the current problems. Even if they do release such a product wouldn’t they still have the original problem at hands? Fix this one first and then start something new.

The guys over a CNET decided to create a list of the Top Ten terrible Tech Products and would you believe it that the Vista Operating System made it to the tenth spot. They really do have some excellent points to back this up.
1 - Any operating system
that provokes a campaign for its predecessor’s reintroduction deserves to be classed as terrible technology.
2 - Any operating system that quietly has a downgrade-to- previous-edition option introduced for PC makers deserves to be classed as terrible technology.
3 - Any operating system that takes six years of development but is instantly hated by hordes of PC professionals and enthusiasts deserves to be classed as terrible technology.
I’m a proud owner of two new laptops both of which come equipped with the Vista operating system. On my HP pavilion dv6500
you will find the Vista home edition whilst on the other tiny Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pro Vista Business is the OS of choice. To be truly honest with you I really don’t know the difference since they both look exactly the same. The only evident variation is that the Business edition comes preinstalled with a Microsoft Office
trial. Yes I know, who cares.
The only thing that really bugs me besides the whole crappy, Linux
wannabe security warnings, is the resource hogging, computer slowing, thing that happens every time a few programs are running simultaneously. Make that better and maybe you will have a content customer.
