Good news for all you Wordpress fanatics, it seems that Justin Tadlock managed to do it again, only this time he really surpassed is previous achievements by releasing the new Visionary Newspaper Wordpress Theme. If you’ve been keeping up with all my previous posts about Newspaper themes, you would know that although there are some nearly perfect solutions, none provide the true feel required to create a full-scale newspaper or magazine.
The Visionary theme changes all that and is in my humble opinion the only true newspaper or magazine theme available. Well organized, exceptionally thought out and impressively functional, the Visionary theme shows what the Wordpress Blogging CMS can really do.
This theme really promises and I can’t wait to give it a try on one of my blogs. One of the many features I really liked was the latest video module and the intuitive navigation provided for searching the archives, latest post, most popular posts and sections (categories).

The automated blog has arrives and with it came the disguised steeling of content combined with a new wave of spam that promises to clog the internet with useless rubbish. Just when we thought that normal spam was under control out comes another even worse replacement to satisfy the hunger of lazy, third class webmasters.
These blogs are generally created using the Wordpress blogging CMS and an easily obtainable plugin. Let me just start by saying that if you expect me to link to this plugin I’m sorry but this will not happen since this sort of scheme doesn’t create any value, just steels content (feeds) from other blogs.
These blogs have been popping up like mushrooms and currently represent nearly all my incoming links. I don’t know if other bloggers have been experiencing the same thing but for the past month Trackbacks from such blogs have started to represent a big chunk of all spam caught by Askimet. I understand that many bloggers might even condone such practices because at the end they still get an inbound link and to be honest with you I still don’t know where I stand on this.
My problem with such blogs is that they really don’t create any value and only survive by leeching the hard work of others. We can all appreciate a link now and then but these are useless given that they boast nearly no value. I guess all we can do now is wait and hope this trend eventually dies.

The WP-Directory Wordpress Plugin is a very useful plugin that will create an extremely functional link directory on your Wordpress blog. Very simple to install and even easier to use this is one of those plugins I’ve always wanted to have but never found one that was so functional.
For a simple example of a site using WP-Directory Wordpress Plugin please visit OTTQ.com.
You can download the WP-Directory Wordpress Plugin from here.

If you’re an old time blogger and have been in the game for a few years, you know that after reaching the hundreds of posts a Wordpress blog will start to feel the heat. The blog will get slower and in many circumstances will become nearly inaccessible because of the time it takes to load. This is even worse if your blog appears on Digg.com, Slashdot, Stumbleupon or any other popular site that can generate a lot of traffic.
The solution is quite simple and it comes in the form of a very easy to use plugin. WordPress Super cache generates html files and serves them without ever invoking a single line of PHP. The plugin will also save a copy of all dynamically generated pages, and place them in directories that match the permalinks structure. You can read all the features on the official site. If your blog is showing these symptoms give this excellent plugin a try.

Lately I’ve been going nuts writing about different and exceptional Wordpress themes that I have found on the internet. First I started by introducing 3 amazing Wordpress themes, then came the four magazine Wordpress themes and now to end it all, we have the Newspaper Wordpress theme extravaganza. Imagine, I even wrote about a very cool Wordpress Theme competition that is being hosted by DesignVitality.
1-Newspaperiz
This exceptional Theme has proven once and for all, that Wordpress can be used to create any site or blog, all that’s needed is imagination. Well organized, Newspaperiz presents itself in very professional manner transforming any humble blogger into a professional journalist instantly. I liked this theme and can’t wait to launch a blog site using it.

I did find many other themes that could been considered newspaper themes but all lacked the true functionalities needed to be presented on this list. Hey, one is always better than none.

I would just like to announce that I’ve release my first WordPress theme. Unfortunately I did not code it myself but I did pay someone to do it for me which is nearly the same . I wanted to create something simple that could be easily customized by anyone that wants to have a more unique looking theme. For many months I looked all over the internet for something like this but was never able to find anything quite right, so I decided to create it myself. You can download it from the Theme Viewer. I hope you enjoy it.

I think WordPress is just great but with a few small adjustments plugins things could get a whole lot better. The first thing I do after getting my WordPress blog going is install a few plugins that are more than essencial for every blogger that doesn’t want to run into trouble latter on.
This is my list:
Askimet: This is the single most importante plugin that I have installed. If you don’t want spammers blasting your blog with Viagra and get some booty tonight propaganda this plugin is your best option. The plugin comes with every WordPress installation and only requires you to activate it by adding the API Key which can be obtained at www.wordpress.com.
Adsense-Delux: This is a very useful plugin that enables you to insert Adsense code in your posts.
ImageManager: For your image editing pleasure. With this plugin you can upload images, create new foldersto store photos and resize images to fit your posts perfectly.
WP-Amazon: Very useful for making posts about books your reading, etc… Force Word Raping: No more “adsfaksdfjhas” comments that can stuff up your template layout. Need I say more???
WYSI-WordPress: A very usefull WYSIWYG editor.
SimpleTags: Technorati tags made easy.
