About Anything, and possibly Everything..

In-depth review of Rise of the Triad (ROTT for short), a classic game released by Apogee AKA 3D Realms in 1994. Rise of the Triad runs under an improved Wolfenstein 3D engine, and has a lot of fast-paced action and is just awesomely silly. A 2012 remake of Rise of the Triad is in the works by Interceptor Entertainment. (Rise of the Triad) ———- Websites www.ggbeyond.com http Twitter twitter.com

GOG versions uses DOSBOX. thats why your version runs flawless, but there is also another port to run this game on new systems, its called Winrott

No idea what you mean. I bought this game off GOG and it works fine.

Part with the information about ports, is not very accurate. There is only one port for ROTT "WINROTT" and its not very stable, due to the ammount of bugs, crashes and glitches.

Intresting fact: This was originally developed to be the sequel to Wolfenstein 3d but a good way through development John Romero put a halt to it’s development and so Apogee made some changes here and there such as changing the characters to digitized versions of the staff as apposed to using Wolf 3d graphics, adding more silly powerups and a few other changes you could find some of the images and such from the original Wolf 3d Rise on the Apogee/3d realms website.

Yeah, I watched almost all of of his videos, ha! :) I have Heretic and Hexen on my to-buy list on Steam, but sadly, Steam doesn’t have Blood on their list – just yet. Blood looks rather interesting, and I’ve enjoyed Duke Nukem 3D, so, it looks rather interesting to me. :) Plus, I play and look at WADs for Doom all the time, so, if I got Heretic, I’d love to explore the modding community to that, as well. :)

If you love doom quake and wolfenstein 3d you can be as mean as you want haha, but seriously hexen is excellent (it even has a port to the n64 so it’d be easy to get) also check out heretic it’s like the prequel to hexen. There’s also one call blood 3d but yeah if you keep cruising around on cgbeyondcom videos you’ll find all of the great old dos fps games :)

Oh, not to be mean, but, Doom is my favorite game ever made, as well as Quake 1, and I loved Wolfenstein 3D, as well. Ha. I need to try out Hexen next, as for some reason it’s the only Id game I haven’t seemed to play yet. :i

I should check this game out sometime; I’m a huge fan of old FPS games, so, I’m glad I watched your Exploring The Id documentary to find more out about this game. Thank you, very much, sir. :)

It’s pretty obvious if you had seen his Starcraft website before and how this guy (SentryIII) types on forums.
