One of the worst mistakes I see while going through webmaster forums and speaking with newer webmasters is they stress constantly over the little green bar and quantity of backlinks rather than what they should be worrying about which is SERPs placement and quality of backlinks. I have found this a huge mistake and usually costs a ton of valuable time dealing with things that have no real importance with their online business. This webmaster ran a blogspot blog and did not post regularly usually about every other week or so. Now the second webmaster was a firm believer in quantity of backlinks and the importance of page rank. What I found funny was this webmaster had a hundred thousand backlinks pointing towards his wordpress blog which he purchased a domain and server space for and reached Page Rank 4.

The difference between him and the other was even though he had a page rank of 4 and a hundred thousand backlinks he was not worrying about keywords when building so held no first page spot for any major keyword. He was usually in the top hundred for such words as make money online yet was unable to reach the first page like the other webmaster.

The example in the previous paragraph shows the importance of serps placement over number of backlinks or Page Rank. That is great if you fill that little green bar to the brim, but that has nothing at all to do with traffic or making money online. If you want to make money online you must spend your time building QUALITY links towards your web presence all of which towards a keyword. Do not waste your time building links without being keyword directed. This means when you comment on blogs and in the name category the blogger does not allow you to place keywords it is pointless to use this form of internet marketing since it will not give you a boost within the SERPs.

Personally I have given up most forms because of this and usually stick with article marketing and my favorite system is the free traffic system which allows you to place DO FOLLOW KEYWORD FILLED BACKLINKS throughout your article. I have been to the top of Google for some prestigious keywords and have found the traffic ten times better than any other form that I have received.
