The Buzz About Left 4 Dead Zombies

In November 2008 when it was released, L4D has proven to be one of the biggest hits for Valve since Counter Strike Source servers, overtaking TF2 servers in the popularity contests.

Left 4 Dead game servers offers two types of game play. One where you work with a team and other people online – campaign based. The most popular online mode is versus mode, where teams split into two teams of four- survivors and zombies. The survivors have the role of completing the mission. Using the Hunter, Tank, Boomer and Smoker, the zombies quite simply have to waste the survivors!

Apart from the boss zombies, there are normal computer ran infected. These are more like the zombies from the film 28 days later than anything else, hunting in packs called hordes they will kill you in numbers. They can climb ladders and scale objects with relative ease and break through walls and doors and like to be attracted to flash lights and loud noises like car alarms and gun fire.

Less common infected are scattered around maps to keep you on your toes.

The witch rarely appears one or two times on a map- and you’ll not come across her bad side as long as you don’t point the flash light at her or get too close. She can be disturbed by accident as she tends to lurk off the normal map route.

We also have the playable infected which can be played in versus mode. The boomer likes to vomit special bile at the survivors which temporarily blinds you and attracts the common infected to your location! Therefore you keep away from the Boomer and his nasty bile.Being large and slow with low health makes him an easy target to pick off at range, but when he is killed he will explode covering any survivors close enough to cover them in bile as well.

The hunter is like the fast zombies from Half Life 2. They do not look quite so zombie like, just more like your local chav from the street corner but just as dangerous! He can scale walls with ease with his excellent agility. He will pounce and pin down survivors until death like a cat, unless another survivor knocks him off. However he doesn’t have much health so can be taken out easily.

With his long tongue, the smoker sneaks from a distance. Similar to the barnacle in Half Life 2, another survivor must free you once you are caught. In addition, they choke their victim with a smoke, impairing their vision. They will cough frequently to let you know of their presence in an area.

It would be wise to master the Tank before you move onto Left 4 Dead 2 dedicated gaming servers. The Tank, the biggest and baddiest Zombie is quite simply undescribeable – play the game!
